On Thursday, August 27, 2015, the South Carolina High School League presented Lake View High School, represented by Assistant Athletic Director Brandy Huggins, the Award of Excellence for Exemplary Display of Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity. One of only sixteen schools to receive this award, LVHS was noted for outstanding student body behavior and desire to give back to community. Among other things, Lake View student athletes were commended for leading the Wild Gators Read program with Lake View Elementary children, implementing the elementary level pep rallies, having Swampy the mascot visible at community events and in the schools, and participating in numerous school and community activities.
