This year, October has been declared Project H.O.P.E. Month by Dillon Mayor Todd Davis.
Knights of Columbus Marion/Dillon Council No. 8790 have been in existence since 1984.
It is a Catholic fraternal men’s organization created to help the church and community and is dedicated to charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
This organization has adopted intellectual disabilities as a project of special concern and assistance as part of “Project H.O.P.E.—Helping Other Persons Everyday.”
KOC will be launching statewide and  local fundraising drives—passing out Tootsie rolls at no charge.
Monies raised locally will be distributed to schools in Dillon and Marion Counties.
Last year, Columbus  Hope Foundation Marion/Dillon Council 8790 raised $6,860 for the Dillon District Three, Four, and Marion County Special Needs Classes.
KOC appreciates the support of the citizens and businesses in the community.
