Makayla Woods, the woman wanted for throwing hot grease hitting three people, has been arrested.
The arrest occurred on Thursday, August 20th, according to the City of Dillon Police Department.
She is charged with two counts of assault first degree.
Police has been seeking Woods in the case since the incident occurred on July 25th.
According to a report by LCPL. Lorie Tyler and Sgt. Michael Yoder, police were dispatched to the West Calhoun Street Extension area due to someone screaming and yelling. The person who called in the complaint said that there was a group of people, and they heard someone yell “take her to the hospital.” They were unable to find anyone at the scene, but were told that the group could be found at the hospital in Dillon. The officer went to the hospital where they found the three victims.
One of the victims stated that she and the suspect, Makayla Woods, age 18, 929 W. Calhoun St. Extension, Dillon, got into a physical altercation at this location earlier. The victim said that after this altercation was over that Woods went in to the house and came back out with hot grease, the report says. She then allegedly threw the hot grease onto the victim. The two other victims were standing beside her and got hit with the hot grease by mistake. The main victim had several blisters on the left side of her body and face, the report stated.
Sgt. James Hayes is the investigator on the case.
