Services for Dorothy S. Townsend will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with burial in Evergreen Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Townsend, 85, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon.
Born in Dillon County, SC, January 19, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Bill Sawyer and Allie Martin Sawyer. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her children, Deborah T. Hayes of Dillon, Jan (Roger) Soper of Latta, Guy (Karen) Townsend, Jr. of Mullins, and Jo Ann (Ronnie) Bosco of East Granby, CT; special loved ones, Rachel (Jerry) Huggins of Dillon; 6 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Beatrice S. Hayes of Mullins, Jim (Julie) Sawyer of Dillon, Lynda (Danny) Monroe of Star, NC, and Johnny (Gloria) Sawyer of Dillon.
