The City of Dillon is hosting the 2015 South Carolina Dixie Youth Majors State Tournament from July 17-23.
Teams playing include Dillon (the host team) Summerville Parks Field, Colleton County, Bamberg, Belton, Conway, McLeod Park, Lake Marion, Aynor, Turbeville, Hartsville Northern, and Moncks Corner.
On Friday night, the opening ceremonies were held at the City of Dillon Wellness Center. Among those addressing the players were Mayor Todd Davis, Lonnie Turner, Paul McCulloch, state director, and more. Robbie Brown was the guest speaker. In attendance were City Manager Glen Wagner, Dennis McDaniel-National Director, Ralph Jones-District 7 Director, and LeBon Joye-District 9 director.
The players and coaches enjoyed a great meal and received a goody bag. Play is set to begin at the City of Dillon Sports Complex on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
