Dillon Historic Foundation’s June Meeting Held

The Dillon Historic School Foundation held its monthly meeting on June 2, at the Chamber of Commerce Office in Dillon.
After the meeting was called to order by Gerald Berry, Chairman, Terry Morris, Vice-Chairman, gave the invocation.
Mary Miller, Secretary, read the minutes that were approved.
In the absence of the Treasurer, Bubba Wilson, the financial report was given by Mary Miller.
The President reviewed thoughts and concerns from past meetings.
In the business session, the development and progress of the brochure for DHSF was discussed. It should be ready for distribution within the next few weeks.
Correspondence sent to officials was discussed and replies will hopefully be forthcoming for discussion at the July Meeting.
Under new business, the appointed committee will finalize information for the National Register application.
Corresponding Secretary, Terry Morris, reported information involving DHSF that he had received.
A proposed letter-to-the-editor of The Dillon Herald was approved.
Insurance coverage for the J.V. Martin Auditorium was discussed and options will continue to be researched.
Various projects concerning developing and promoting our foundation were discussed.
Chairman Berry reminded members of the committee meetings scheduled for this month and that each committee is asked to give a report at the July Meeting.
The meeting was adjourned after the President closed with comments entitled “Express Yourself”.
The next  meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 7, at 7 p.m. at the Chamber Office. New members are welcomed to come and join the group.
