McCall Chosen for All-American Bowl

Dillon’s Avery McCall has been chosen to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

McCall is one of seven South Carolina football players nominated for the game. He is the first player from Dillon to be chosen for the game and will play as wide receiver.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound quarterback was instrumental in leading the Wildcats to three straight Class 2A Division I titles and set 10 records for Dillon High, earning 5,502 career passing yards and 352 completions with just five interceptions in 511 passing attempts. McCall is a rising senior, and in his junior year with the Wildcats, he threw for 2,945 yards and 36 touchdowns, completing 71 percent of his passes, all school records. It was the first unbeaten season in Dillon’s history.

McCall was named All-Region for the 2014 season.

McCall is one of the top-ranked recruiting prospects in the state and one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the nation. He has offers several offers from Division I schools and says that Oregon State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Florida State, and East Carolina are all places he’s considering.

The 2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl will be televised live on NBC on Saturday, January 9, at 1:00 p.m. EST.
