We Are Hurt

To The Editor:
I passed by the building that was our Dear Walls of Columbus High School, part of the building was being torn down.  I saw the dump truck hauling the walls away.  I stopped in the middle of the street in front of the building on April 22, 2015 and tears began to flow.  It seemed as if a part of me was leaving.  It was like attending a funeral of a loved one with the remains being carried away to the Potter’s Field to be seen no more.  Memories Lingered within those Walls of Dear Old CHS.  Our Name was taken, and now the Walls are Gone.
The Alma Mater:
Within these dear wall, Columbus High
We’ll learn to love and cherish you.
And from those earnest hearts, guiding our feet,
Love will take us till again we meet.
If achievements take us far,
Columbus High has been our guiding star.
If life troubles assail,
Columbus High will never fail
So I’ll say we’ll fight on
Columbus High our very own.
You know that we love you
Dear CHS, Dear CHS.
