A beloved Michigander left us peacefully at his home on March 25th with his family and canines. Don was a 20 year disabled veteran who served honorably and proudly in The United States Marine Corps. He adopted Dillon as his home. He was much loved by his wife Pat; his children Donald Hudec III of Savannah, GA; Christy Hudec of Jacksonville, NC; stepson Greyson Waters of Asheville, NC; and grandson Anthony Flores of Jacksonville. His parents Don and Sharon Hudec reside in Naples, FL. He has extended family in Detroit, MI, and Food Lion of Dillon!
Don was a familiar face at Dillon Christian School, cooking and raising money for mission trips. A loud voice and smiling face was his presence. His bad driving was legend. Memorial services are planned for July 11th in Grouse Pointe, Michigan. He is going back home to the land of his beloved Wolverines.
His passion was the love of his country and family. He was a sponsor for The Wounded Warrior Organization and continued to hope these loyal veterans would not be forgotten. Memorials can be made to The Wounded Warrior Organization.
