Lake View’s Wild Gators earned shut out wins in double headers against Creek Bridge and Hemingway last week to remain undefeated in regular season action at 11-0.
On Wednesday, the Gators hosted Creek Bridge, earning a 14-0 win in game one and 13-0 win in game two.
In game one, Lake View picked up eight runs in the bottom of the first and six in the second for the win. Carson Rogers and Nick Collins both hit a double in the first inning and Hunters Stevens had two singles in the win, with De’Ante Bridgett, Brent Herlong, and Stone Spivey each hit a single.
Rogers earned the win on the mound, pitching three innings with no hits and seven outs. For Creek Bridge, Quinton Hucks pitched an inning for five hits, 10 runs, two earned runs, and three walks. Harold Simmons also pitched one inning for two hits, four runs, and three outs.
At bat, Lake View’s Stevens was 2-for-2 with one RBI and two runs scored; Bridgett went 1-for-1 with two RBI and two runs; Rogers went 1-for-1 with two runs; Collins went 1-for-1 with two RBI; Herlong went 1-for-2 with one RBI and two runs; Spivey went 1-for-3 with one RBI and two runs; Duane Nichols scored one run with one RBI; Will Arnette scored one run with two RBI; and Peyton Cox scored two runs with one RBI.
In game two, Josh Price had a double and De’Ante Bridgett singled for the only two hits in the game. Lake View reached base on nine walks and five hit by pitch.
On the mound for the Gators, Josh Price pitched three innings for seven outs.
For the Warriors, Ismail Sumpter pitched 1.1 innings for one hit, four runs, four earned runs, two walks, and one out. Kaleb Hughes pitched two thirds of an inning for one hit, six runs, six earned runs, four walks, and one out, and EJ Washington pitched for three runs, one earned run, and three walks.
At bat for the Gators, Price went 1-for-2 with a double, two RBI, and one run scored; Bridgett went 1-for-1 with two runs; William Scott and Justin Elliott each picked up one RBI; Nick Collins scored two runs with one RBI; and Weston Rogers, Will Arnette, Hunters Stevens, and Stone Spivey each scored two runs.
Lake View had two hits in the win, and Creek Bridge had three errors.
On Friday, Lake View hosted the Hemingway Tigers for a double header, earning a 13-0 win in game one and a 10-0 win in game two.
In game one, Lake View picked up three runs in the bottom of the first and 10 in the second for the win. Weston Rogers hit a double and a triple in the win, and Price, Elliott, Nichols, and Collins each hit singles.
On the mound for the Gators, Weston Rogers pitched three innings for one hit and eight outs. For the Tigers, Desmond Bennet pitched one inning for one hit, three runs, three earned runs, three walks, and one out. Cephon Lewis pitched one inning for Hemingway with five hits, 10 runs, six walks, and one out.
Weston Rogers went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, four RBI, and one run scored to lead the Gators at bat. Elliott went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run scored; Collins went 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run; Price went 1-for-1 with two runs; Nichols was 1-for-1; Carson Rogers, Luc Newell, and Herlong each scored two runs; and Connor Anderson and Bridgett each added one run in the win. Lake View had six hits in the win.
Adonte Aiken went 1-for-1 for the Tigers’ only hit. Hemingway had three errors in the effort.
In game two, Lake View took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before adding three runs in the third and five in the fourth for a 10-0 win. Herlong doubled and singled in the win, and Weston Rogers, Price, Newell, and Bridgett each singled.
Herlong pitched four innings for the win with eight outs. Adonte Aiken took the loss for Hemingway with six hits, 10 runs, seven earned runs, eight walks, and one out.
Herlong also led at bat, going 2-for-2 with a double and two runs. Spivey went 1-for-1 with one RBI and one run scored; Weston Rogers went 1-for-2 with two runs; Newell went 1-for-3 with one RBI; Bridgett went 1-for-1 with one run scored; Elliott scored two runs with two RBI; Collins picked up one RBI; and Price and Carson Rogers each added one run. Lake View had six hits and one error in the win.
The Gators will be on the road at Green Sea Floyds tonight and will host South Robeson on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
