Lady Gators Defeat Warriors, Fall to Trojans

Lake View’s Lady Wild Gators earned a win over Creek Bridge but fell to Green Sea Floyds this week in girls varsity basketball action.

The Lady Gators were on the road on Friday night to take on the Creek Bridge Warriors for a 56-30 win.

Olivia McDaniel scored 22 points for the Gators, and Jasmine Ford added 14 points in the win. Na’Kedra Page added 10 points; Kayla Page, 6; and Hannah Miller, 4.

The Lady Wild Gators battled the Green Sea Floyds Trojans for a 61-58 loss on the road on Tuesday night.

Lake View took a 15-8 lead in the first quarter but Green Sea rallied for a 19-9 second quarter to lead 27-24 at the half. The Trojans kept the Gators at bay 19-11 in the third, and a 23-15 Wild Gator rally in the fourth fell just short of tying the game.

Lake View was led by Olivia McDaniel with 23 points and Jasmine Ford with 20. Na’Kedra Page added 12 points in the effort, and Diayah Williams earned three. Ford scored three three-point goals, with McDaniel scoring two and Page sinking one three-pointer.

Tamara Jackson led Green Sea Floyds with a game-high 25 points and Quadasia Gillard added 15. Paige McDaniels scored 7; Kensenya Jackson, 4; Zhane Richburg, 4; Leen El Harake, 3; and Courtnee Faulk, 3.

Lake View slips to 7-5 overall and 1-4 in Region 8-A, while the Trojans improve to 8-5 overall and 2-3 in the region.

The Lady Gators will be at home this Friday to host the Hemingway Tigers in their second meeting this season. On Tuesday, the Gators will be on the road to Latta to take on the Vikings, and on Friday, February ,6, Lake View will host Creek Bridge. Game times are set for 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
