Osbourne Laval Wallace

Dillon – Osbourne Laval Wallace, 87, died at the Methodist Manor of Florence, Monday, January 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Main Street United Methodist Church with interment in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Church prior to the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.

Mr. Wallace was born in Dillon County, South Carolina, November 30, 1927, the son of the late Owen Lane and Anna Bell McCall Wallace. He was the widower of Betty Jean Mahaffey Wallace. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Methodist Men and past member of the choir. Osbourne was also the Past President of the Lions Club, Past President of South Carolina Seedmen’s Association, Past President of the Southern Field Seed Council, Dillon City Council, Senior Platoon (Clemson Class of 1949), and Founder of Dillon Seed & Supply.

He is survived by his son, Owen Lane Wallace (Natalie) of Dillon, SC; daughter, Joy Wallace Waller (Gene) of West Union, SC; grandchildren, Michael G. Waller (Brittany) of Florence, SC, Sydney W. Howle (Matthew) of Hartsville, SC, McCall W. Kurland (Ross) of Jackson, TN, and Lane W. McDaniel (Jason) of Florence, SC; greatgrandchild, Cody Ethan Waller; and sisters, Mattie Lou W. Strickland of Dillon, SC and Sarah W. Payne of Greenville, SC. He was predeceased by his sister, Julia Lane Wallace McLaurin.
