On Saturday October 18th, the Marching Cats competed in the South Carolina Band Director’s Association’s Class 2A Lower State Marching Band Championship. There were 18 bands in attendance and we needed to finish in the top 10 to move on to state finals.
The students had a great performance but fell short. We ended up in 11th place and missed the tenth spot and state finals by less than a point. Our score was a 64.225 and the band in tenth place scored a 64.375. The students were disappointed that they didn’t make finals but were very pleased that they put forth their best effort. This concludes our competition season. We thank you for your support of the Marching Cats and hope to see you at one of our Dillon Symphonic Band upcoming concerts.
