Luminary Service Held At Greenlawn Cemetery

The first annual Greenlawn Cemetery Luminary Service was held, November 29, 2014, to remember the loved ones who have passed away in the past year.   
The service was design to honor the memories and lives of the ones who have gone on before us by worship, lighting of candles, and reading the names of the ones buried or entombed this pass year in the cemetery.  
Candles were lit along the roads of the cemetery and the family had an opportunity to place personal luminaries on the grave.
The Luminary Service occurred in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel.  The service open with a Word of Prayer given by Christopher H. Daniels who is the Minister, Greif Counselor, and Funeral Director Apprentice at Kannaday Funeral Home.  Video presentations were presented by the funeral home called, “Go Light Your World” and “Light a Candle.”

The Message of Legacy was presented by Rev. Bruce Sayre of Main Street United Methodist Church of Dillon.  The Message of Hope in the Resurrection was presented by Christopher H. Daniels.
The Message of Comfort was presented by President Daniel Cabaniss of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Marion.  
A special musical selection was given by Travis Jackson, “Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone”.  A Congregational Hymn was offer by Pastor Sarah Jackson and Travis Jackson of Lighthouse Full Gospel Church of Dillon.  During the Reading of Names the congregation was reminded that, “Every Candle Has a Name” and the service conclusion was presented by Ryan L. Kannaday, Jr. who is the owner and caretaker of Kannaday Funeral Home and Greenlawn Cemetery.  After the service concluded people were able walk and drive through the cemetery with contained several hundred luminaries and enjoy refreshments provided by Kannaday Funeral Home and Greenlawn Cemetery.
Speakers were Susan Kannaday, Lora McInnis, Jimmy Elliott, Kelli Smallwood-Daniels, Samantha Smallwood, and Brittany Smallwood.
