Gators, Wildcats Ready to Start New Season

Lake View’s Wild Gators will be kicking off their regular season this week while the Wildcats will be heating up in varsity basketball action.

Lake View pushed back their season opener one week to allow more practice time after playing for the state title in varsity football action. But the Gators will be ready for action tonight at East Clarendon.

Both Lake View teams will be looking to improve over last season. The Lady Gators finished with an 11-9 record, falling to Timmonsville in the first round of playoffs, while the boys were winless last season.

After taking on East Clarendon tonight, the Gators will be back at home to host Loris on Wednesday. Next week, the Gators will be at Dillon on Monday night and will host Aynor on Thursday, December 18, before taking a break for the holidays.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats kicked off their regular season last Tuesday night with wins over South Robeson. The Lady Wildcats defeated the Mustangs 70-23 while the boys earned a 73-54 win.

Dillon was scheduled to travel to face Marlboro on Monday night and will host South Robeson tonight, Lake View on Monday, and Marlboro County on Tuesday, December 16, before the winter break begins.

Game time for varsity games is set for 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
