DHS To Implement Character Coaching

Dillon High School will implement Character Coaching on October 28.
The purpose of Character Coaching is to promote positive character development through proactive and therapeutic strategies and interventions.
Research in both business and education has validated that people who are socially and emotionally literate – who know how to handle conflict, manage feelings, solve problems, stand up for themselves, communicate clearly and empathize with others – do better in school, in work, and in life.
Students who are assigned Character Coaching sessions at Dillon High School will focus on academic achievement through completing classwork, Ripple Effects computer based modules, journaling and community service.
It is the school’s belief that building character through Character Coaching will guide young people toward a positive future full of confidence, motivation, creativity, team work, leadership and valuable life principles.
