Fredrick Manuel “Fim” White

SUMMERVILLE—The family and friends of Fim White are celebrating his life and blessings.  At age 69, Fredrick Manuel White (Fim) found peace in Heaven after a brave battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinsons disease.  He passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in Columbia, SC.
Fim was born in Whiteville, NC on July 19, 1945 to the late Pearl Baldwin White and FM White, Jr.  He has been the youngest brother to David, Mickey, and Billy.  Fim was raised with his family in Dillon, SC.
After graduating from Furman University, he built a life with Cherry Rowe of Saluda, where they raised a family in Summerville, SC.    Summerville would be Fim’s home for 44 years.  The majority of his professional years were spent as the owner and operator of one of the family’s NAPA stores, formerly located on West Richardson Avenue.  He prided himself as a local business owner, and served his community as a Rotarian.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed the outdoors as an angler, golfer, boater, camper, and hunter.  Fim enjoyed an active membership with the Airstream Wally Byam Caravan Club, through which he extensively traveled with friends and family.  He also had a musical gift through which he loved to play the guitar and dulcimer, sing, and dance.
His life memories are carried on by a loving network of friends and family, especially Ann Sinclair, his wife without the paperwork; his oldest daughter, Liesl Price, her husband, Mark, and their children, Jillian and Owen; and his youngest daughter, Jarrett Davis, her husband, John, and their children, Jack, June, and Jacy.  He is also survived by his brothers HM White (Mickey) and WE White (Bill).
A memorial service is planned for Friday, September 26th at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 9110 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC at 2:00 PM.  Fim’s family will receive visitors following the service in the church’s fellowship hall.  Fim’s body will be interred in Dillon, SC the following day. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel assisted the family with local arrangements.
