Wildcats, Gators Ranked in State Polls

Dillon remained at the top of the Class 2A polls and Lake View moved into the top 10 in Class A in this week’s SC Prep Media Polls.

After a 56-16 win over Class 3A’s North Myrtle Beach on Friday, Dillon had no trouble remaining at the top of the Class 2A polls. Strom Thurmond held onto second place and Batesburg-Leesville and Timberland kept their spots as third and fourth in the state.

Abbeville jumped onto the list in fifth place, and Newberry held onto sixth, with Loris moving up to seventh, Woodruff staying put at eighth, and Fairfield Central sliding to ninth. Chesnee slid to tenth place, and Silver Bluff and Cheraw fell out of the top 10.

In Class A, Lake View entered the top 10, taking the ninth place spot. Lake View earned a 37-6 win over Scott’s Branch in Week 0 to earn their spot on the list.

Christ Church held on to the top spot in Class A, followed by Lamar and Carvers Bay, who also retained their spots. Allendale-Fairfax moved up to fourth and bumped Hunter-Kinard-Tyler down to fifth, but Hemingway held on to sixth place. Williston-Elko and Bamberg-Erhardt also swapped spots as Bamberg moved into seventh. Estill was ranked 10th, and Great Falls and Timmonsville both fell out of the top 10 rankings.

In Class 3A, Myrtle Beach topped the rankings, followed by South Pointe, Hartsville, Wren, and Marlboro County. Daniel was sixth, Seneca seventh, and Midland Valley and Greer followed. Union County and Broome tied for tenth.

In Class 4A, Dutch Fork, Byrnes, York, Northwestern, and Summerville took the top five spots, followed by Boiling Springs, Goose Creek, North Augusta, Spartanburg, and Fort Dorchester.
