Services for Betty Jane Jackson Carnes Turner was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turner, 78, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, February 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Hiram Jackson and Myrtle Stanton Jackson. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, James F. (Marie) Carnes, Richard W. (Darlene) Carnes, Jerry L. Carnes, all of Dillon, and Roland C. (Luci) Turner, Jr. of Leesburg, FL; daughter, Kathy (Bobby) McKnight of Leland, NC; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special nephew, Chris Jacobs.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents; and step-parents, Jake Watts and Dolly Jackson; husbands, Floyd Carnes and Roland C. Turner, Sr.; son, Larry Gene Carnes; sister, Laura Jackson; and brother, Robert “Bob” Frye, Sr.
