The Latta ladies defeated Loris 14-4 in the opening game and shut out Mullins 13-0 in the second round. In the third game, Latta defeated Surfside 14-2 and in the fourth they eliminated Loris 25-11.
Latta faced Surfside in the championship game and earned a 13-0 shut out win to claim the District 1 title and advance to state tournament in Dillon.
The Latta Angels won their first game in the state tournament on Sunday, defeating Colleton County 10-6. Latta was scheduled to face Turbeville on Monday night.
The state tournament is set to continue through Wednesday night in Dillon.
