Harvest Hope Needs Help Providing Hunger Relief In Dillon County

Harvest Hope Food Bank has a mission to provide hunger relief to struggling Dillon County families this summer. Thirty-three percent of Dillon County children live with daily food insecurity, which means one in three children goes to bed hungry every night. Further, in Dillon County there are 4,722 school children receiving free and reduced price breakfast and lunches, which equals 83% of all children enrolled in Dillon County schools. With schools closed for the summer, these children are cut off from their regular source of meals. For them, summer is a time of hunger and uncertainty, and their families seek alternatives to make sure there are meals on their tables each day. Harvest Hope serves Dillon County families at their Emergency Food Pantry (EFP) at 2513 West Lucas Street in Florence and also partners with six more local, faith-based organizations to provide hunger relief directly at sites in Dillon County.
