Georgia Dean Elvington Johnson

Mrs. Georgia Dean Elvington Johnson of Nichols, SC died Monday, May 26, 2014 after an illness.  She was seventy six years old.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Dillon County, the daughter of the late George Harvey and Kate Marlow Elvington.  She was formerly of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Conway, SC and a member of Fork Baptist Church of Fork, SC.
A funeral service will be Friday, May 30, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Fork Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Elvington Cemetery of Lake View.  The family will receive friends Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.  Surviving are her son, George Alford (Anna) of Lake View; three daughters, Sheila Cook (Billy) and Cindy Williamson (Eddie) of the home; Tonya Baker (Billy Wayne) of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Robert “Skin” Gray (Lisa) of Hamer, SC; brother in law, Jimmy Ray Johnson (Pat) of Aynor, SC; sister in law, Mary Eloise Yaggi of Port Royal, SC; twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special long term friend Pat Nobles.  She was predeceased by her husband, K. W. Johnson and former husband, H. B. Alford.
Mrs. Johnson retired from AVM, Industries and was very active in her Women’s Sunday School Class.  She loved her flowers, family reunions and her God.  She took good care of her family, friends, and special acquaintances. Mrs. Johnson loved and was loved by many.
