Barbara Noon

Barbara Worth Campbell Noon made a peaceful transition August 11th, 2013 at Hospice of Savannah. She was with family members and surrounded by beautiful fresh flowers from the botanical garden next door. She was born April 26th, 1926 to Thara Madge and John C. Campbell of Latta, Marion County.  South Carolina. She was their first daughter and the second of eight children.  
During WWII, while working for Western Union, she was transferred to San Diego. There she met and married Navy Gunner Frank Garfield Noon, II of Johnstown, Penn.  They settle in Georgia and were married 53 years at the time of his death in 1998. As long time residents of Jonesboro, Georgia the Noon’s started the Forest Park Swim team in 1960. She was a member of the Clayton County Garden Club, the Eastern Star and served as fiscal officer of Clayton County Economic Opportunity Association.    In 1974 they returned to her beloved home of Latta, South Carolina where she was a charter member of Ebenezer Memorial & Historical Association serving as Treasurer and Director, member of the Latta United Methodist Church and a docent at the Historic Edwards House.  She is survived by her four children; Frank Garfield Noon, III (Dana), Alan Keith Noon (Debi), Ruthann Marie Clive (Scott) and Peggi Lyn Noon.  Barbara was blessed with 15 grand children, 32 great-grand children, her three sisters; Thara Ann Watson,  Mary Ruth Younglood and Joyce Gooden, as well as two brothers Fred Campbell and John C. Campbell,  and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.   Please join us in a celebration of her life, Sunday, June 15th at Old Ebenezer Church, 607 Dudley Road, Marion, S.C.  Visitation will be held at the church from 1:30-2:30 p.m. with service to follow.
