Mrs. Ruby Lois Griffin, age 89, widow of the late Wyman Norman Griffin, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC, surrounded by her loving family, after an illness.
Born in McColl, SC, on July 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Harris and Maggie Johnson Poston. She retired from the textile industry after 40 years of dedicated service and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed helping others, nurturing flowers, talking on the phone with family and friends, and listening to gospel music. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister and aunt.
Mrs. Ruby is survived by her sisters, Betty Campbell of Dillon and Dorothy M. Rowland of Long Beach, CA; 2 nieces, Linda (Rev. Roger) Williams of Clio and Diane Corbette of Latta; a nephew, Charles (Jean) Hughes of Conway; and by several great nieces & great nephews.
Funeral services were held 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home with burial following in Roselawn Cemetery. Rev. Roger Williams officiated. Visitation for family and friends was held from 3:00P.M.-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mrs. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above; a brother, Eric Johnson; and a nephew, Wayne Butler.
