Irene Jewell Huggins Driggers, 94, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Latta Baptist Church with interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta.
Mrs. Driggers was born February 17, 1920 in Little Rock, SC, the daughter of the late Newburn Stacy and Flora Daniels Huggins. She was a homemaker and the widow of Douglas Bradford Driggers. She taught the Harriet Dew Sunday school Class at Latta Baptist Church for many years and a member of the Golden Jubilee Choir.
She is survived by her son, Larry G. Driggers (Elizabeth) of Latta, SC; daughter, Patricia D. Lopez (George) of Ojai, CA; grandchildren, David Driggers (Rebekah), Paul Driggers (Barbara), Gina Snow (Adrian), Michael Lopez, and Mark Lopez; and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Hardy Huggins and sisters, Aline Dean, Linny Cook, and Julia Bracey.
