Latta’s Lady Vikings shut out the Lady Bears 18-0 on Tuesday night at Carver’s Bay.
Anna Rogers earned the win on the mound, pitching three innings for four hits while striking out seven. Dori Webster also pitched an inning for the Vikings, striking out two.
Camryn Sawyer led Latta at bat, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, and Mikenzi Caniglia went 2-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored. Madison Owens was 1-for-1 with a RBI and three runs, and Macy Hyatt went 2-for-3 with two RBI. The Lady Vikings had 11 hits in the win.
Latta starts the season with a 1-0 record and head coach Stephanie Johnson says the Lady Vikings are looking forward to a great season.
The Latta Ladies will host Darlington tonight at 5:30 p.m. and will be away at Hannah-Pamplico on Tuesday, March 18.
