Marie Stratton Rogers Robbins

Dillon – Marie Stratton Rogers Robbins, 85, passed away at the McLeod Regional Medical Center Dillon February 20, 2014. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, February 23, 2014 in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Dillon with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service at Kannaday Funeral Home.

Mrs. Robbins was born in Dillon, SC December 30, 1928, the daughter of the late Samuel and Pauline Ethel Stratton Rogers. She was the widow of John Billy Stubbs and Leslie Elton Robbins. She retired from Dixiana Mills after working twenty-five years as a Lab Technician. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Marvin Rast Sunday School Class, and Louise Best Circle. She recieved the honor of being a fifty-year member from the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also active in the American Legion, Mohawk Association, and the Pilot Club.

Marie is survived by her son, William S. “Billy” Stubbs (Cheryl) of Latta, SC; daughters, Leslie R. Owens (Kevin) of Chapin, SC and Gwen Stubbs Dotson of Dillon, SC; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by step-brothers, Lacy Rogers and Earl Rogers, and a step-sister, Eva Rogers Elvington.
