Latta’s Lady Vikings picked up a 67-27 win over the Green Sea-Floyds Trojans on Thursday night in girls varsity basketball at Green Sea.
The Lady Vikings took a 23-2 win in the first quarter and out paced the Trojans for the rest of the game, 15-6, 18-9, and 11-10, to pick up the win.
TaKeria Legette and Jessica Evans each earned a game-high 20 points to lead Latta, and Maya Wright added 10 points in the win. Brittany Burgess and Madelia Johnson each added six points, and Iyonna McKenzie added three, with Tyjhane Faison earning two.
The Lady Vikings improved to 2-0 in Region 8-A and 7-3 overall for the season.
Latta will be at home tonight to host Hannah-Pamplico and on the road Friday to face the Lake View Wild Gators. Both games start at 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
