Dillon – Billy Maurice Coward, 67, died at the McLeod Medical Center Florence, Friday, November 22, 2013. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Dillon, SC with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon.
Mr. Coward was born April 5, 1946 in Mullins, SC, the son of the late Ervin Liston and Loney Turbeville Coward. He was the widower of Sarah Margaret Coward. He attended East Dillon Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the Marion County Ambulance Service as a Paramedic and was employed as a Security Guard with Anvil Knitwear. He volunteered with the Floyd Dale Rescue Squad and Fire Department.
He is survived by his sons, Joey M. Coward (Barbara) of Darlington, SC and Billy J. “B. J.” Coward (Stacie) of Floyd Dale, SC; daughter, Karen C. Quinn (James) of Hampstead, NC; brother, Ervin Coward (Shelby) of Dillon, SC; and sisters, Annie C. Owens and Mamie Palmquist both of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Jessica, James, Dylan, Stacey, Bradley, Ashley, and Benji; and a great grandchild, Jackson.
