Mrs. Linda Denny Barr, age 73, of Pilot Mountain, died Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born December 3, 1939 in Forsyth County to the late Fred Maxwell Denny & Anabel Stone Denny. Mrs. Barr retired as a teacher at Pilot Mountain Middle School after a previous career in adult social work in Dillon, SC. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Denny Barr & Tara Hughes Barr of Pilot Mountain, NC and David Barr & Jan Lynch Barr of King, NC; grandchildren, Jesse Barr, Wesley Barr, Noah Barr & Joel Barr; sister, Gail Denny Westmoreland of Pilot Mountain, NC; brother & sister-in-law, Don & Saundra Denny of Hickory, NC and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her husband, George Hayes Barr. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain conducted by Rev. Gene Sherrill with interment to follow at Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. Mrs. Barr’s cremated remains will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. There will be no formal visitation.
