Former Teacher In Urgent Need Of Kidney Transplant

A former teacher is in urgent need of a kidney transplant.    
Daniel McRae is the son of the late Reverend Mingo and Sarah McRae. He is a native of Dillon and attended Hamer Canaan Elementary, Gordon High, and graduated from Dillon High School. From high school, Daniel was accepted at the University of South Carolina where he majored in French and minored in International Studies. While at the university, he also pledged and became a member of the Theta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
Mr. McRae taught elementary and middle school in California for over twenty years and spent four years as a middle school assistant principal. Upon his return to South Carolina in 2005, he spent several years as a middle school teacher in the Marlboro County School District until diabetes forced him into early retirement. Mr. McRae has always placed high emphasis on the value of education and his no-nonsense approach to teaching resulted in high levels of student achievement.
Mr. McRae has been on dialysis for over three years and is currently on home dialysis. He is on the transplant list at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. His blood type is B+.
