Stackhouse Runs in Four Touchdowns, Brown Kicks in Three Field Goals, to Lift Warriors 46-7 Over Lions

The Dillon Christian School Warriors produced over 600 all-purpose yards while holding The Kings Academy Lions to 75 on a kickoff return Friday night in Florence for a 46-7 Warrior win.

Warrior Head Coach Christian Wolfe and his staff found every way possible to score. Power scat back Kelvin Stackhouse rushed for 304 yards on 26 carries for four touchdowns; Anthony Williams returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown; Luke and Mathew Price tackled the Lion tailback in his end zone for a safety; and Will Brown kicked three field goals and was a perfect five for five on extra points in the game. Jim Carr, starting at his second outing at quarterback, was 7-of-13 for 128 yards.

Stackhouse got his first touchdown on a 6-yard run with 8:19 left in the first quarter with Brown’s kick putting the Warriors up 7-0. Luke and Mathew Price stormed into the Lion backfield catching their tailback before he could come out of the end zone for a safety to give the Warriors a 9-0 lead with 6:45 left in the first quarter.

Stackhouse added touchdown number two with 11:13 left in the second quarter on a 7-yard run with Brown’s point after putting the Warriors ahead 16-0. The Warriors got out of position and allowed the Lions to return the kickoff 75 yards with the extra point kick closing the Warrior lead to 16-9.

Will Brown kicked his first field goal with 7:10 left in the second quarter from 37 yards out to up the Warrior lead to 19-7. Stackhouse ran one in from two yards out for touchdown number three with Brown giving the Warriors a 26-7 lead with 1:46 left in the half. The Warriors got two quick turnovers before the half ended, allowing Brown a 30-yard and a 27-yard field goal to give the Warriors a 32-7 half time lead.

With 2:44 left in the third quarter, Stackhouse got his fourth touchdown of the night on an 8-yard run. Brown’s kick increased the Warrior lead to 39-7.

Anthony Williams picked off a Lion pass and raced 43 yards for the touchdown with 11:47 left in the fourth quarter. Brown added the final point of the game for the 46-7 Warrior win.

On offense for the Warriors, in addition to his 304 yards and four touchdowns, Stackhouse caught a pass for 26 yards. Jim Carr was 7-of-13 for 128 yards; Anthony Williams got 58 yards on nine carries; Michael Minges got 52 yards on seven carries; Ellison Rourke caught three passes for 53 yards; and Will Brown caught three passes for 49 yards.

On defense, Ben Boykin had 10 tackles, three assists; Mathew Price had seven tackles, six assists; Jake Boykin and Hunter Tyner had five tackles with two assists each; Ellison Rourke, Mark Minges, and Anthony Williams had four tackles with two assists each with Williams adding an interception for a touchdown; Will Brown, Heath Freitas, Luke Price, and David Williams had three tackles with an assist each; Connor Hamilton had two tackles with two assists; Samuel Brown, Dallas Feeko, Bradley Patterson, and Douglas Bullock had three tackle assists each.

The Warriors will travel to Holly Hill Academy this Friday, October 4, at 7:30 p.m. The Raiders are 2-2 heading into the game, while Dillon Christian is now 2-3.
