NETC Awarded Grant For Workforce Development Initiatives

Northeastern Technical College (NETC) was recently awarded grant funds totaling $25,000 through the Duke Energy Foundation and the Clemson University Center for Workforce Development (CUCWD) to support workforce development initiatives.
NETC received funding for two different workforce development proposals.
One will provide simulation software and support materials to teach advanced manufacturing processes.
The other grant will help provide staff support for manufacturing programs.
Both projects are part of NETC’s ongoing emphasis on manufacturing technology and training.
“Industry and manufacturing skills provide the fastest pathway to good paying jobs in the NETC service region.  The types of jobs supported by these grant funds are high demand, high skill, and high wage jobs,” said Dr. Ron Bartley, NETC president. “We at NETC are excited to be a part of the Duke Energy Foundation/Clemson University initiative.”
“School districts and technical colleges statewide have shown an eagerness to enhance the education of their students through an array of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives,” said Rebecca Hartley, program coordinator of the Center for Workforce Development at Clemson. “Such initiatives are vital if South Carolina is going to meet its workforce development needs.”
