The opening ceremony for the 2013 Dixie Debs State Championship was held at the City of Dillon Wellness Center on Friday evening. Teams gathered to enjoy a meal and welcoming remarks for various city and tournament officials. Games are scheduled to start on Saturday, July 13; however, The Herald has learned that all games on Saturday have been changed to 10 a.m. and 12 noon instead of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. due to weather. The weather didn’t dampen spirits on Friday night as teams were excited about the tournament and ready for play.
