Council For Aging Holds Annual Meeting

The Dillon County Council For The Aging recently held their annual meeting.
Special singing was presented by Mrs. Caryn Proctor, also Mrs. Proctor gave a devotion from the book of John 15:13 and Romans 15:11…the greatest love. 
Cindy opened the meeting welcoming everyone and the guest.
Cindy asked Isaiah Collington to open with prayer.
Joni recognized Council on Aging board members.
Hayward Thompson, nominating committee of board, spoke with all board members and they all agreed to accept the position to serve on the COA for year 2013-2014.
Cindy Causey made a motion to accept the board members be accepted for the coming year – Joni seconded the motion – all clients agreed.
Joni introduced the board members with gift for the continuing and dedicated service: Hayward Thompson, Judy Sanderson, Isaiah Collington, Vice-Chairperson, Elda M. McCutcheon , Mary Wilkes, Bobby McLean,Cindy Causey, Chairperson Dorothy Bethea, Katie Paul, and Betsy Finklea.
Joni spoke:
1. How the units are generated and the system of how the funds are received for COA.
2. The grants and donations that had been received for the past and coming year.
3. Volunteers was recognized with a certificate and a gift for volunteering their time  at the COA.
Volunteers  were Blanche Alford, Millie Alford, Betty Anderson, Katie M. Bethea, Daisy Bullock, Annie Grice, Edith Inman, Roger Luce, Mamie Manning, Margaret McCall, Eugene McLellan, Essie Moultrie,  Ida Myers, Jesse Scarver, Regina McRae and Caryn Proctor
Joni thanked everyone for coming and accepting position for the coming year to serve on the COA board – also thanks goes to the Seniors for participating in the COA’s program.
Jeanette handed out financial reports for everyone look over and if the.
Bobby McLean blessed the food and lunch was served.
