Raymond Leroy Knight, Jr.

Raymond Leroy Knight, Jr., 72, died at his home, Sunday, June 16, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Dillon with interment in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon.
Mr. Knight was born June 15, 1941 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Raymond Leroy and Lou Eva Adams Knight. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Ivey’s Furniture Store until his retirement. He umpired at the Kiwanis Ballfield and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. He was a veteran and served in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Judy I. Knight of the home; sons, Thomas Liston Cottingham of Myrtle Beach, SC and Raymond Leroy Knight, III of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Julia Knight Boykin (Joey) of Dillon, SC and Susan Knight Taylor (Steve) of Statesburg, GA; sisters, Mary Frances Mason and Betty Tedder both of Charlotte, NC, and Doris Joyner Smith of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Zach Taylor, Jeb Boykin, Andrew Taylor, Ben Boykin, Jake Boykin, and Caleb Boykin. He was predeceased by his step-mother, Watha Funderburk Knight and sisters, Shirley McSwain and Ethel Black.
