Bean to Coach Latta Volleyball

Coach Kim Bean will take over as head volleyball coach for Latta in the fall.

Latta High School recently announced that Coach Kimberly Bean will be replacing Coach Kimberly Griffith as the new head volleyball coach for the Lady Vikings in the fall.

Griffith is stepping down from her position as head coach at the end of the season to spend more time with her two young children.

Bean played volleyball for West Florence High School but did not play in college while attending Francis Marion University. She received her master’s degree from Grand Canyon University.

Bean has been coaching junior varsity volleyball for three years and is currently working with Coach Griffith to finish the volleyball schedule and determine camp dates.

“Latta’s volleyball team already has a strong foundation and I just want to build on that foundation,” Bean said.

Bean is married to Robby Bean, who also coaches local recreation teams. They have two daughters, Kearson and Caroline, who are active in recreation sports and travel ball. Bean says she enjoys spending time with family and friends at the beach and that she enjoys going fishing with her family.

“I am excited to be coaching again and to have the opportunity to coach the varsity volleyball team,” Bean added. “The team is going to miss Coach Griffith and I hope to continue the work she has put into the program.”
