Latta’s Lady Vikings took a 2-1 loss to the Green Sea-Floyds Trojans on Wednesday, April 17.
The Lady Trojans scored in the first inning and the Vikings scored one run in the bottom of the fifth to tie things 1-1. Neither team could score again, forcing the game into extra innings, with the Trojans’ Paige McDaniels driving in Natalie Floyd in the eighth for the 2-1 win.
Green Sea’s Morgan Elliott got the win, pitching 3.6 innings for three hits, one walk, and two outs. Anna Rogers took the loss for Latta, pitching all eight innings four four hits, two runs, one earned run, one walk, and 12 outs.
Natalie Floyds went 2-for-4 with a double for the Trojans and Madison Owens led Latta, going 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI. Anna Rogers also went 2-for -3 for the Lady Vikings.
