Whitfield To Be Recognized As Hometown Hero

Local volunteer Famon Whitfield, II, of Dillon, will soon be recognized for countless hours of service to the community.
On April 22, local Modern Woodmen of America members will honor him as a hometown hero.
Whitfield will be recognized for his ability to touch the lives of many young people through his coaching and teaching career in the community through Modern Woodmen’s Hometown Heroes Program.
As part of this program, members of the Dillon Modern Woodmen chapter will present the recipient with a certificate  and a $ 100 award grant, to be presented to the charitable organization of the honoree’s choice.
“The Hometown Hero Program allows us to thank those who give back to the community and encourage others to volunteer,” says Karin McRae, local Modern Woodmen chapter activities coordinator.
Local Modern Woodmen members and their guests are invited to attend this event, which will be held at Bojangles in Dillon at 5 p.m.
For reservations, call Karin McRae at 843-713-1482, by April 15.
