Mrs. Christine Sanderson Dew, age 91, wife of the late John A. “Jay” Dew passed away March 2, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare of the Pines. Mrs. Christine was born December 2, 1921, the daughter of the late Charlie and Ella Grimsley Sanderson.
Mrs. Dew was predeceased by her brother David (Edna) Sanderson, her sisters Mattie (Luby) Jones, Alice (Johnny) Olanick and Elma “Teeny) Nanna. Surviving Mrs. Dew are two daughters, Iris (Johnny) Taylor of Dillon and Miranda McLellan of Lake View: two sisters, Inez (Fulton) Scott of Aberdeen, NC and Thelma “Pat” (Robert) Schamber of Glenns Ferry, Idaho. She has five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dew was a devoted member of Kemper Baptist Church and kept the nursery for over thirty years. She was a loving, caring person and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Kemper Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 1 p.m., directed by Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Hospice of the Pee Dee, 609 South Coit Street, Florence, SC 29501, www.united-hospice.com.
