Rick Gardner Retires As Scoutmaster

Boy Scouts from Troop 777 in Latta along with various friends and family members gathered at Latta United Methodist Church to celebrate Rick Gardner’s retirement as Scoutmaster.
This was a surprise dinner for Rick.
Rick has dedicated more than 12 years to the Boy Scouts from Latta’s Troop 777.
He has been an exceptional leader and friend to these young men and truly has made an impact in their lives in hopes of assisting them in becoming future leaders.
It was obvious by the number of people in attendance that Rick has impacted so many lives.
The ceremony opened with a welcome by Scoutmaster Billy Tyler followed by the presentation of colors by Scouts Kendall Bryant and William Allen.
Ms. Stephanie Johnson sang the National Anthem.  Rick’s son, Eagle Scout Quinton Gardner, presented him with a Boy Scout Veteran’s Pin in honor of his years of service to the Troop.
Scoutmaster Billy Tyler presented Rick with a plaque on behalf of all the Boy Scouts from Troop 777.  Ms. Stephanie Johnson sang another song dedicated to Rick.  Various people had opportunities to address Rick and thank him for what he has done in the community.
Senior Patrol Leader Jeremiah Hayes served as the Master of Ceremonies.
Everyone enjoyed refreshments and fellowship afterwards.
Rick will remain with Troop 777 as an Assistant Scoutmaster.  Thank you Rick for everything!
