By Betsy Finklea
One person has been arrested and another is being sought in a strong arm robbery at the Quick Stop in Latta on December 20th.
According to a report by Sgt. Bobby L. Jones of the Latta Police Department, the clerk said two black males had entered the store. They walked to the beer, turned as if they were getting ready to leave, and then walked to the counter. One of the men pulled out a black revolver from his pocket, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded that the clerk open the register and give him the money. The other man was looking out the door, walked outside, and stood beside the road. The other man got the money, pointed the gun at the clerk, and asked for his wallet. The clerk took out his wallet, showed the suspect that he only had a dollar, and the suspect took it. The suspect then walked out of the store and both men fled the scene. Police were called. PFC Richard Lee assisted Jones at the scene.
Within 1 1/2 hours, police identified one of the suspects as Quenton Rachid Dixon, 22, 119 Rogers Street, Latta, and picked him up at convenience store where he was spotted by polic. He was arrested and charged with strong arm robbery.
The second suspect has not yet been located. Moore said that the only information that they have on him is that he is a dark-skinned black male and goes by the name of “Keem.”
Anyone with any information as the identity or whereabouts of “Keem” or who has any information on this case is asked to call the Latta Police Department at (843) 752-4718.
