The Latta Vikings fell 56-32 to the Johnsonville Flashes at home in Latta on Tuesday night.
Johnsonville took a slim 7-4 lead in the first quarter but widened it 13-6 in the second to lead 20-10 at the half. The Flashes outscored Latta 17-13 and 17-11 in the third and fourth to seal the win.
Travise Kinney and Ty’Sean Burgess each scored seven points to lead the Vikings, with Ken’Che Page and Quane’ Williams each added six points in the effort. Tyrell Sabb scored four points for Latta and Justin McClellan earned two.
Cordea Wilson led Johnsonville with a game-high 11 points and Arkelious Williams added 10, with Adonis Doctor scoring eight and Tately Anderson earned five. Josh Franklin and S. Lawrence each added four, JT Eaddy and Tushai Edwards each earned three, and Eric Hampton and S. Crouch each added two in the win.
Latta slips to 4-9 overall and 3-2 in Region 8-A. Johnsonville remains first in the region with an undefeated 5-0 record and an 11-2 overall record this season.
On Friday, the Vikings will travel to Green Sea-Floyds to face the Trojans, and on Tuesday, January 29, Latta will host Creek Bridge at 6:00 p.m. Then on Friday, February 1, Latta will host Hannah-Pamplico. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
