Vikings Fall 63-62 to Hannah-Pamplico Raiders

The Latta Vikings took a 63-62 loss on Tuesday as Hannah-Pamplico’s Jerried Self grabbed a rebound and scored with 1.9 seconds left in the game.

Latta took a narrow 16-14 lead in the first quarter, but Hannah-Pamplico went 21-18 in the second to take control with a 35-34 lead at the half. The Raiders widened the gap in the third, outscoring Latta 14-10 for a 49-44. But the Vikings charged in the fourth, outscoring Hannah-Pamplico 18-14, and only Self’s last second shot gave the Raiders the win.

Latta was led by Ken’Che Page and Travise Kinney, each with 18 points, and Tyrell Sabb who scored 15. Quane’ Williams added six points and Ty’Sean Burgess earned five in the loss.

Devante Ellis led Hannah-Pamplico with a game-high 19 points with Jerried Self earning 15, Roy Ellis scoring 11, and Terry Self adding nine. Kentron Belin added four points in the win.

The Vikings slip to 2-8 overall and 2-1 in Region 8A, while the Raiders improve to 5-4 with a 3-0 record in the region.

Latta was scheduled to host Dillon Wednesday night and will be hosting Lake View on Friday and Johnsonville on Tuesday, January 22. All game times are 6:00 p.m., so make plans to attend to support our local teams!
