National Philanthropy Day

To The Editor:
On November 15, the nonprofit sector celebrates National Philanthropy Day. This is also a time when community foundations are recognized for the important role they play in promoting charitable giving. Because of their flexibility and capacity to structure many forms of giving often in perpetuity, community foundations have become the fastest growing form of philanthropy in the United States.   Eastern Carolina Community Foundation joined their ranks in 2007 to begin five years of service to the Pee Dee.
At this special time, we give thanks and acknowledge all who make the Eastern Carolina  Community Foundations the vehicle of choice for growing sources of charitable giving. We celebrate our donors, the committed and caring people who are passionate about giving back and paying forward the abundance they have been blessed to receive. We are humbled and grateful for the courage of community leaders who refuse to be bowed by unfavorable winds and for whom community philanthropy deeply matters.
Community foundations have the ingredients to accomplish extraordinary things. With your help, we will make a difference together. Learn more about philanthropy and your community foundation. Please visit www.easterncarolinacf .org, or call us at 843-667-1131. We are your community foundation.
