Two Dillon Women Charged With Theft Of Government Funds

United States Attorney Bill Nettles announced that a Federal Grand Jury sitting in Florence has returned the following indictments:   
Nina Monique Allen, age 31, and Wendy Marie Johnson, age 37, both of Dillon, were charged in a 5-count Indictment. Both were charged with theft of government funds, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 641.  Johnson was also charged with aggravated identity theft, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1028A(a)(1). The maximum penalty Allen and Johnson could receive is 10 years imprisonment. Johnson could receive 2 years imprisonment to run consecutive to any other sentence for conviction of the aggravated identity theft charges. 
The case was investigated by agents of the United States Secret Service and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney William E. Day, II of the Florence office for prosecution. The charges in these indictments are merely accusations and that the defendants charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
