County Council Approves Incentive Agreement For Project Toolshed

By Betsy Finklea
The Dillon County Council has passed an incentive agreement and agreed to purchase approximately 100+ acres for Project Toolshed, according to County Administrator Clay Young. The agreement has been sent to the company for approval.
Project Toolshed has proposed a $60 million investment and the creation of 200 jobs over a five-year period, Young said.
The county has secured grants for the state to do a widening project in the area and to build a new entrance into the Dillon-Marion-Marlboro Counties Industrial Park, also known as the Tri-County Industrial Park.
“This would be one of the largest expansions in the last six to eight years,” said Young.
“We’re excited about the potential for creating 200 new jobs for Dillon County,” said Young, who said this is a great opportunity in this tough economy.
