Services for Obelas “Aunt Bea” Byrd will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Mrs. Byrd, 84, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon.
Born in Hamlet, NC, May 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Chavis and Ila Jackson Chavis. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. She was the widow of the late Ellerbe Byrd.
Survivors include her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many adpoted grandchildren.
