Diamondbacks Win Fastpitch Challenge

On Saturday, October 13, the 8U Dillon Diamondbacks competed in the WFC Fall Fastpitch Chase Challenge in Dillon and won first place.

They started the day off with a 16-5 victory in the pool game over the Laurinburg All-Stars. Then in the double elimination bracket they started with a 21-16 loss to the Coastal Marlins in extra innings.

Coming out of the losers bracket, the Diamondbacks reeled off four straight victories with a 14-0 win over the CArolina Rockers, an 18-13 win over the Coastal Marlins, a 21-9 win over the Dixie Divas, and a 13-6 win over the Laurinburg All-Stars to advance to a one-inning shootout for the championship against the Laurinburg All-Stars. The Diamondbacks prevailed 1-0 to win the championship.

The Diamondbacks scored an amazing 99 runs in the tournament.
