Hannah-Pamplico’s Raiders shut out the Latta Vikings 13-0 on Friday night in Pamplico.
Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter, but the Raiders got on the board in the second with an 18-yard run from Ryan Mays. The kick failed, leaving Hannah-Pamplico ahead 6-0 at half time. The Raiders scored again in the fourth on a five-yard run from Terry Self, and a successful kick from Josh martin gave the Raiders the 13-0 win.
Mays rushed for 82 yards on 12 carries and Self carried 11 times for 61 yards.
Latta slipped to 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the region while Hannah-Pamplico improved to 4-5 and 3-1 in Region 8A to secure third place in the region and their first playoff spot since 2008.
This Friday, Latta will host the Lake View Wild Gators at 7:30 p.m. to wrap up the regular season. The Gators are second in the region, while Latta is fourth. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
